This herbal specialty is made from herbal juice and root power in the heart of the Erzgebirge herb region, using traditional, time-honored laboratory techniques. The natural treasures that form the basis of this liqueur are still largely gathered by hand by diligent collectors, just as they were in the old days.

 The company's headquarters   Lautergold   in Lauter im   Ore Mountains   has existed since 1734. It was commissioned by royal Saxon laboratory technicians, who, upon hearing of the healing powers of herbs and roots from China, were searching for an elixir of life that would grant the king a long life. In 1734, they settled down to produce medicinal and household remedies from the Erzgebirge region in a factory. The company's founding is thanks to this ancient laboratory skill, and at the same time, the origin of today's spirits production. Even after more than 270 years, the family business remains committed to the power of the roots and herbs of the Erzgebirge forest meadows and fields, and continues to base its products on this tradition.
